Academies Australasia

Who Are We?
The Academies Australasia Group of Colleges is owned and managed by Garratt's Limited, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange that has been operating for more than 100 years. Public listed status means that apart from having to meet the well regarded, carefully supervised standards of the international education market, Academies Australasia colleges must also comply with the strict financial and reporting regulations of the Australian Stock Exchange.
Academies Australasia is the brand name under which Garratt's operates in the Australian international education sector. A number of our colleges have a long history. For example, Clarendon has been teaching students for more than 50 years.
Since October 2009, following the acquisition of a controlling stake in a college in Singapore (subsequently renamed ‘Academies Australasia College’) the group also has to comply with the requirements of the education authorities in Singapore.
There are seven colleges, each a separate company with its own licence to operate as an education institution - Academies Australasia College in Singapore and six colleges in Australia:
- * Academy of English (ELICOS) [Including Academy of English (Blue Mountains) and Academy of English (Barton)]
- * Australian International High School (Senior High School)
- * Academy of Social Sciences (Vocational)
- * Australian College of Technology (Vocational)
- * Clarendon Business College (Vocational) [Including Clarendon Business College (Barton)]
- * Supreme Business College (Vocational).
In Australia, Academies Australasia has two campuses in the heart of Sydney, New South Wales (George Street and Pitt Street), just a few minutes’ walk from each other. They also operate in Leura in the Blue Mountains (New South Wales) and in Barton (Australian Capital Territory). Academies Australasia collaborates with St. Aloysius College and English Language School of Australia in Adelaide, South Australia. It will be offering vocational programmes in Adelaide. It is also considering expanding its operations to include Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
In Singapore, Academies Australasia College is in Middle Road, in the education precinct. Singapore is growing rapidly as a destination for international students. One reason for Academies Australasia operating in Singapore is so that international students may study Academies Australasia programmes without having to come to Australia. Students continuing their studies in Australia will be eligible for credits for what they have successfully completed at Academies Australasia College.
