Princeton Institute of Education is a private Registered Training Organization (RTO) located in suburban Melbourne providing quality education in Hospitality, Business and English programs. The Institute is located in Box Hill - a lively suburb which is only 20 minutes from the city by train station, which is located in the centre of a busy shopping precinct. There are many asian eateries and foodstores in the surrounding are with Box Hill being a multicultural, vibrant suburb.


Student Support Services

A range of student support services are provided to students throughout the duration of their studies. These services come at no cost to the student. however if an external referral is required, the external provider of that service may charge a fee.

A Student Services Officer can be contacted for assistance and guidance on any matters from study issues and attendance through to personal problems.


Counselling and Welfare Services

 

Students who are facing difficulties with study or other personal issues can seek short term counselling through Student Support Services. Longer term counselling will be referred to an external counselling service which may come at a charge.

Students who face any difficulties - whether it be accommodation issues or any other problems affecting them are encouraged to see a Student Services Officer for assistance and guidance.


Accomodation Options

 

There are a number of accommodation options available for students:

 

Homestay - for many students who are away from home for the first time, this choice of accommodation provides a good way to learn about the Australian lifestyle and customs while living in a family environment. Homestays cost around AUD$200 per week and include all meals. PIE uses the services of an agency to provide homestays. If you are interested in a Homestay indicate it on the application form.

 

Rental Properties - where students can rent a property either alone or shared with other people. Sharing the accommodation costs reduce the cost of renting. You can rent either furnished or unfurnished houses or appartments. rent varies depending on either you share or you live alone. It can be from AUD$120 to AUD$250 per week. Student Services can advise regarding rental options.

 

Short term hostel or hotel accommodation - This is suitable when students need somewhere to stay on a short term basis while arranging their long terms accommodation needs.


Orientation

 

As many students find life in Australia quite different from life in their home country, orientation activities are provided to help students become familiar with Australian culture and customs and to introduce students to the Institute and its services.

All student will be provided with an Orientation Guide which details many aspects of living and studying in Melbourne and introduces students to life in Australia. An orientation session prior to commencement of the course will include enrolment, a campus familiarisation tour, studying at Princeton, living in Australia and opportunities for meeting other students.
